Unleashing the True Potential of HR at Atolye15

As an HR representative at Atolye15, I want to take you on a journey that has truly transformed my career and my approach to Human Resources. Since joining this incredible team, I've evolved from my roots as an HR consultant to becoming an integral part of the Atolye15 family. Today, I’m excited to share my story with you and show you the power of team spirit and culture fit in the hiring process and beyond.  

Starting my HR journey at a consultancy company, I quickly became skilled in evaluating technical expertise and hard skills. While these are important aspects of HR, I found that the consultancy environment didn't allow me to truly understand the team dynamics and culture of the companies I served. As a result, I could never be certain whether a candidate would truly fit in or thrive within the company. I didn’t have a clear understanding of the process and steps involved after hiring a candidate as I had limited opportunities to explore the full HR life cycle beyond my specialized responsibilities.

I soon found myself craving more from my HR career—a deeper understanding of the teams I supported and the chance to have a lasting impact on their day-to-day lives. And when I joined Atolye15, that’s exactly what happened!

As an HR representative in this tight-knit team, my role has evolved to encompass a broader range of responsibilities. Now, I also have the opportunity to build close relationships with teammates and become a trusted resource for them when they have questions or concerns about their life at work. But perhaps one of my most important duties is to discover the right cultural fit for the team to help maintain the unique culture that makes Atolye15 so special.  

The team spirit at Atolye15 is unlike anything I've ever experienced before! Here, we pride ourselves on our welcoming atmosphere, where new members feel embraced and supported from day one. As a remote team, we make it a priority to come together in person for retreats, parties, and kickoff events that strengthen our bonds and reinforce our unique company culture. These experiences create lasting memories and translate into an even more collaborative and supportive work environment for all of us.

These are the reasons the work I do here at Atolye15 is so different from my previous role in an HR consultancy company. Here, I’m a part of the team and have a deeper understanding of our unique dynamics and the qualities we value in new hires. At Atolye15, we don't just focus on years of work experience or technical expertise when making hiring decisions, even though they are important factors. One of our main goals is to find teammates who will not only excel in their roles but also become best buddies with the rest of us.

Something else we greatly value is the culture of open discussion. At Atolye15, we have incredibly beneficial technical discussions where everyone is free to express their ideas, whether it's for a product decision or another technical matter. When evaluating potential team members, we consider whether they will be able to actively participate in these discussions or if they will simply perform their assigned tasks like in a traditional corporate environment. This is extremely important for the culture we have created here at Atolye15.

That’s why I now realize that identifying the perfect cultural fit is just as crucial, if not more so, than assessing technical skills and work history. This significant shift in my HR approach has let me help Atolye15 grow in a meaningful and lasting way. Because by focusing on cultural fit, we ensure that the people we bring on board feel at home, leading to long-term satisfaction and commitment. Ultimately, it’s a win-win situation for everyone involved.

In short, my journey from consultancy to Atolye15 has been a transformative experience that has profoundly changed the way I approach my profession. In just a few months I’ve developed a keen eye for identifying individuals who share our core values and passion to do amazing work together. This holistic approach to HR has been a breath of fresh air, allowing me to make more informed decisions and contribute to the growth and success of everyone on board. I am grateful for this incredible journey and look forward to continuing to learn and grow alongside my amazing Atolye15 family.
