As Atolye15, we're passionate about discovering exceptional talents within our ecosystem and providing them with new opportunities to further their capabilities. With this vision in mind, we recently organized our second Coding Challenge in Ankara, held at Walkers Tunalı. After the Coding Challenge İzmir, this time, we were keen to explore our community outside of İzmir and provide a platform for them to showcase their skills.
After we received hundreds of applications from all over Turkey, we carefully chose around 30 participants to take part in the challenge. The event kicked off with a delicious breakfast, followed by an inspiring networking session where we shared our enthusiasm for the craft of development. Our team then gave a presentation outlining the steps involved in the challenge, and the participants dove straight into the task at hand.
Throughout the two-day challenge, participants tried to create a production-ready product using TypeScript and GraphQL and our mentors provided unwavering support, never leaving their side in case they required assistance. At the end of the challenge, we conducted a thorough code review, providing each participant with valuable line-by-line feedback to help them grow and improve their skills. Together, we had lengthy discussions about the mistakes made during the challenge, brainstorming possible solutions and sharing our expertise.
Together as a team, we love unearthing the exceptional talents in our community and giving them new opportunities to improve their capabilities further. So, with that idea in mind, we organized our first-ever Coding Challenge at our headquarters in İzmir. And we decided to send the winner all the way to Amsterdam to attend Europe’s biggest Java Script conference, the great JS Nation!
After an unfortunately lengthy pause due to the pandemic, we finally organized our long-awaited 8th Intern Bootcamp. It didn’t last long until we realized how much we missed meeting the young and talented people of our community and working with them side by side on various projects to discover the brilliant new minds to join the Atolye15 Team. The event took place at İzmir Originn with the participation of 50 aspiring developers, UI/UX designers, and project managers. As always, we started off by informing our future interns more about our team as well as the frontend, backend, design, and PM projects they would work on at the Bootcamp.
In 2018, we held our 4th conference on web and mobile technologies in Izmir with more than a thousand attendees. And we loved sharing this massive platform with 5 impressive speakers who embrace the giveback culture we all live by as a team. So, it was an honor for us to share what we know and have meaningful discussions on topics relating to PHP, NodeJS, Python, Ruby, React, Angular, Sketch, Figma, and many more in front of the enthusiasts of the community.
At our 7th Intern Bootcamp, we got together with the young talents of our community once again and had a day full of workshops where we shared our years’ worth of know-how, helped our future interns tackle various tasks, and got the chance to meet these aspiring developers, designers, and project managers on a more personal level. With more than 400 applications received, this year’s Bootcamp drew great interest within our ecosystem. However, we could only narrow it down to 40 to join us at this event. No matter how much we’d like to meet everyone, we only want to have a small circle of candidates we’re capable of managing.
