We thought we had seen it all, but nothing could have prepared us for the incredible time we had in Berlin! Our recent 4-day-long adventure to the German capital was no ordinary trip - it was a turning point for us all.
As Atolye15, we're passionate about discovering exceptional talents within our ecosystem and providing them with new opportunities to further their capabilities.
Here at Atolye15, we’re huge fans of new beginnings. And what could be a bigger beginning than the New Year itself? So, at the end of December, we decided to gather the whole team at our headquarters and threw an extremely fun team event that quickly became one of our all-time favorites. And it was none other than our famous New Year Party’23!
Together as a team, we love unearthing the exceptional talents in our community and giving them new opportunities to improve their capabilities further. So, with that idea in mind, we organized our first-ever Coding Challenge at our headquarters in İzmir. And we decided to send the winner all the way to Amsterdam to attend Europe’s biggest Java Script conference, the great JS Nation!
Our last Summer Retreat left a tremendous impact on both our team and the industry. And although we knew it would be difficult to top last year, we accepted the challenge and decided to organize yet another one. This time, we made sure to go above and beyond for the best summer of our lives!
When someone on the Atolye15 team decides to part ways, we don’t ever cut ties! On the contrary, we strengthen them by celebrating old memories while building new ones. Because once someone becomes one of us, they’re forever a part of us. And that’s why we gathered everyone our paths have ever crossed with and threw a legendary Reunion Party at our headquarters!
Winter Retreat‘22 is proof that the Atolye15 Team is capable of having fun anytime and everywhere no matter how harsh the weather conditions may be! If we put our minds to bringing the heat, even heavy snow can’t get in the way. And that’s exactly what we did!
After an unfortunately lengthy pause due to the pandemic, we finally organized our long-awaited 8th Intern Bootcamp. It didn’t last long until we realized how much we missed meeting the young and talented people of our community and working with them side by side on various projects to discover the brilliant new minds to join the Atolye15 Team. The event took place at İzmir Originn with the participation of 50 aspiring developers, UI/UX designers, and project managers. As always, we started off by informing our future interns more about our team as well as the frontend, backend, design, and PM projects they would work on at the Bootcamp.
With 2021 coming to a close, it was time to celebrate the amazing year we had and raise a toast! And what better way to do that than with our own teammates at our own office, we thought. So, we organized an intimate team event and threw a low-key New Year Party at our headquarters. The day started off with a huge surprise! Massive gift boxes with everybody’s names written on them were waiting for the whole team under the Christmas tree. They were filled with cozy sweatshirts, premium coffee packages, delicious chocolate of all kinds, and festive socks to warm our toes and hearts.
After having to stay apart for almost two years due to the pandemic, we knew that our following team event had to be something big! So, we decided to gather the whole team and go on a three-day-long summer retreat in beautiful Marmaris. Those three days not only felt like a rejuvenating detox but also a much-needed catch-up for all of our teammates, many of whom work remotely from various cities away from each other. Needless to say, it surely was a reunion to remember!
Every year, we organize end-of-year kickoff events where we talk business and enjoy each other’s company in the most relaxing settings. This year too, we rallied our team to bid farewell to the past year and set the tone for the upcoming one. But we didn’t want to do it in our office or through our screens virtually. So instead, we chose a winery!
At our 7th Intern Bootcamp, we got together with the young talents of our community once again and had a day full of workshops where we shared our years’ worth of know-how, helped our future interns tackle various tasks, and got the chance to meet these aspiring developers, designers, and project managers on a more personal level. With more than 400 applications received, this year’s Bootcamp drew great interest within our ecosystem. However, we could only narrow it down to 40 to join us at this event. No matter how much we’d like to meet everyone, we only want to have a small circle of candidates we’re capable of managing.
For us, each September 15 is important in its own way. But September 15 of 2019 was something else! Because it marked our team’s 10th anniversary. So, of course, in celebration of this glorious day, we couldn’t help but organize a legendary party with friends, clients, teammates who have now become more than family!
Each Intern Bootcamp we organize attracts a great deal of attention from young and brilliant minds in pursuit of showcasing their talents to become a part of the Atolye15 team. And the 6th one of these much-anticipated community events was no exception either. With 50 attendees who were carefully chosen out of more than 500 applicants, our 6th Intern Bootcamp hosted a total of 4 workshops. And during these workshops, our team guided the attendees and meticulously took note of how they worked as they completed their projects.
We are always fond of hosting events to support our community with our years’ worth of accumulated knowledge and experience. But we also love organizing team events that are just for us too! And at these exclusive events, like Kickoff’19, our focus heavily lies on bringing our remote team closer and making our bonds stronger as we delve deep into the topic of teamwork.
Over the years, our Intern Bootcamps have become the center of attention for our community’s young talents who want to get off on the right foot while just getting started in the industry. Because Atolye15 is more than just a workplace. It’s a school that nurtures anyone who’s willing to learn and carries them to new heights.
In 2018, we held our 4th conference on web and mobile technologies in Izmir with more than a thousand attendees. And we loved sharing this massive platform with 5 impressive speakers who embrace the giveback culture we all live by as a team. So, it was an honor for us to share what we know and have meaningful discussions on topics relating to PHP, NodeJS, Python, Ruby, React, Angular, Sketch, Figma, and many more in front of the enthusiasts of the community.
Like its predecessors, our 4th Intern Bootcamp became the center of attention among the young tech talents in our community and received more than 300 applications. We narrowed this number down to 50 and set out on a journey to find the right fit for our team. Because we’re not looking for interns to run around the office doing our errands and watching us work. Instead, we’re looking for brilliant minds willing to take the wheel by directly getting involved in our projects.
Receiving more than 650 applications in quite a short amount of time, our 3rd Intern Bootcamp became one of the most popular events we had ever organized for the young and bright minds of our community. Together, we carefully narrowed the number down to 50 attendees who were beyond excited to showcase their talents to join us as our next intern. But what they didn’t know was that we were just as excited as they were.
As Atolye15, we love organizing events to bring the whole ecosystem together and solidify our bonds. And one of our favorite ways to do that is through our technical conferences, where we share our knowledge and industry experience and encourage others to do the same. Because we can only rise by lifting others.
With the intention of hosting a huge event based on the topic of entrepreneurship to spark inspiration in the brilliant minds of our community, we organized IzmirUp together with the Turkish Entrepreneurship Foundation, a.k.a GIRVAK. With this exciting and insightful community event, our primary purpose was to encourage our ecosystem’s young and unique talents to learn more about starting a new business and cultivating their entrepreneurial skills.
After all the attention our first Intern Bootcamp received from the community, we decided to host yet another one. Again, rather than finding an intern to run our errands for a temporary time, our primary goal was to discover young talents and give them a chance to improve themselves toward becoming the tech leaders of the future. And we do that by not telling what to do. But by trusting them enough to put their skills to the test by actually working on projects and not just observing.
As the Atolye15 team, we are incredibly committed to our community. So, we take it upon ourselves to give back to the ecosystem we all come from. And the way we give back is through sharing our years’ worth of accumulated technical knowledge and industry experience using platforms such as WTK’15.
In order to give the young and talented members of our community a chance to improve themselves and become successful future developers, designers, and project managers, we decided to organize Intern Bootcamps. With these events, our objective is not to find an intern to run the errands of the office, bring us coffee, or make some photocopies. Our primary purpose is to discover brilliant minds willing to take the wheel by directly getting involved in our projects rather than just observing. At these events, we’re constantly on the lookout for curious and highly-skilled individuals who have the potential to turn their internship into a long-term relationship with us as teammates.
As Atolye15, we always wanted to host huge tech conferences to bring the whole community together for exchanging ideas and strengthening our ties. And WTK’14 was the first one of these. While organizing this type of community event, our primary goal is to give back to the ecosystem that greatly contributed to where we are today. And the way we give back is by sharing our years’ worth of technical knowledge and industry experiences.
